IGNORANCE VS IGRANCE
Ignorance ("Lack of knowledge or Information.")
In life we are ALL ignorant about something.
Ignorance simply means that you do not know or you do not have the necessary information to fully understand a particular issue or topic.
EXAMPLE OF IGNORANCE
Almost everyone in society today has heard about, seen, or flow in airplanes.
Hundreds of people everyday use planes to go from place to place but of those hundreds and even thousands of people who travel via planes very few are able to, or understand how to actually fly or control a plane. Which mean most of us are ignorant when it comes to piloting a plane. We don't know much about it or we don't have any practical knowledge about it.
Ignorance DOES NOT MEAN that you are bad or less intelligent; it simply means that there are things you don't know.
The good thing about Ignorance is that it can be changed by knowledge and education.
"Igrance" ("Having the knowledge to do better but not caring to.")
Even though there is a wealth of information around us helping us NOT to be Ignorant, many people remain "Igrant".
"Igrance" can also be seen as being stubborn, being obstinate, and also being"don't care-ish".
I'm sure we have all met or known someone who has acted this way at one point or other, especially if that someone is ourselves.
EXAMPLE OF "IGRANCE"
Information about HIV/AIDS is all around us. Everyone has heard about it AT LEAST ONCE. Most of us have heard that you can only become infected with HIV/AIDS if you have unprotected sex, share needles, contract it during birth from an HIV positive mother or come into contact with infected blood, semen, pre cum or vaginal secretions.
Ok so we KNOW THIS!!!
BUT many people remain "IGRANT" and scorn HIV infected persons, they act afraid to touch them, afraid to share food with them and afraid to be around them. They even act mean towards them calling them names and treating them badly.
IGNORANCE AND "IGRANCE" ARE THE FIRST SIGNS AND CAUSES OF STIGMA AND DISCRIMINATION.
STIGMA AND DISCRIMINATION HURT AND IT CAN ALSO KILL. SO LET'S NOT BE "IGRANT"!
